“Are you an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner looking to join a forward-thinking Same Day Emergency Care service?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and highly skilled Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our friendly and expanding Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside an established team of ACPs, supported by experienced Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine consultants and a wider multidisciplinary team. You will be an integral part of a service focused on delivering timely, high-quality assessment and treatment while helping patients avoid unnecessary admission to hospital.

SDEC provides an exciting and varied clinical environment, managing patients with a broad range of acute medical presentations and providing senior clinical decision-making at the front door of the hospital.”

Proposed Interview date would be: Thursday 17th September or Tuesday 22nd September 2026

### Main duties of the job

- Practice as an autonomous professional in a self-directed manner, with confidence, authority and expertise under the supervision of the acute medical consultant team.
- Work within own clinical competency and NMC registration of patients aged 18 and above
- Perform advanced history taking, physical assessment, clinical examination, requesting/conducting/interpreting appropriate investigations/procedures to inform a clinical diagnosis and appropriate management plan in discussion with senior clinical decision makers.
- Autonomously discharge patients within own clinical competence as agreed with SDEC Consultant.
- Have direct responsibility for patient caseload, ensuring all patients have an accurate plan of care, which reflects the assessment undertaken and incorporates the issues and recommendations made.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge within specialty
- Demonstrate an understanding of current developments in the relevant speciality
- Demonstrate the ability to utilise current research finding in practice
- Understand, encourage, and support clinical supervision
- Knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment/management
- Knowledge of infection control issues

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of current NHS, professional and educational issues

### Experience

**Essential**

- Completed portfolio of supervised practice in advanced clinical practice.
- Evidence of continued professional development following MSc completion.
- Evidence of recent teaching, mentorship, and supervision of staff
- Evidence of multi – professional working

**Desirable**

- Evidence of clinical work in an autonomous role
- Evidence of quality improvement methodology and audit experience
- Evidence of involvement in change management

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Professional Registration with either NMC, GPhC or HCPC.
- Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
- Possession of MSc in Advanced Practice or recognised equivalent by HEE Centre Advancing Practice
- Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) if appropriate to registered profession /role
- Leadership/management course

**Desirable**

- Evidence of continuing education
