### Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and  motivated administrator to join the Islington Social Communication Team; a specialist service for autistic children of 5 years and under. The team provides assessment, diagnosis and pre/post diagnostic support for autistic children and their parents/carers. The team also provides support, training and consultation to staff across a range of providers.

The post-holder will play an important role in the provision of high quality secretarial and administrative support to this team. They will have excellent interpersonal, organisational, secretarial and computer skills.

The Social Communication Team is a friendly, progressive and dynamic team which also has a strong focus on staff wellbeing. We promote equal opportunities and access for all and support flexible working hours.

The post holder will be based primarily at the Northern Health Centre.

### Main duties of the job

To provide high quality administrative support to the Islington Social Communication Team

Through close liaison with the Clinical Manager and service manager to assist with the management and maintenance of the SCT waiting list.

To monitor and manage incoming referrals.

To support pathways within the autism service I.e., autism sleep pathway

To assist in the collection of data

To produce a variety of documents including clinical letters, reports, and memos to Whittington Health recognised standard

To manage phone calls to the service

To contribute to quality and improvement initiative

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and work accurately under pressure to meet targets
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and excellent attention to detail

**Desirable**

- Able to use patient tracking and clinical notes systems

### Knowledge & Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of administering waiting lists and caseloads
- Previous experience involving patient contact and/or scheduling of appointments
- Able to use the Microsoft Office suite to a good standard – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

**Desirable**

- Experience of using electronic patient record systems (e.g. RiO)

### Education and Qualifications

**Essential**

- Minimum of 5 GCSE grades C

**Desirable**

- Familiar with autism and neuro-divergency
- Knowledge and skills for the post or equivalent acquired through in-depth experience and training
