We are seeking to recruit an Administrative Assistant to work as part of our busy multi-disciplinary Drug and Alcohol Service to offer administrative and organisational support. The post will be based on the reception desk and will include answering the telephone and greeting all service users and visitors. The successful candidate will have excellent I.T. and typing skills and understand the importance of confidentiality. The post holder must be able to work under pressure and be able to multi-task. The post holder will present a professional manner, be tactful and diplomatic, exercising excellent communication skills to uphold the positive image of the service and Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will have excellent administration and organisational skills.

There is the possibility of some occasional evening work on a Thursday evening until 8 pm.

### Main duties of the job

To provide cover for Reception, including answering the phone and greeting service users and visitors to the service.

To offer administrative and organisational support to the multi-disciplinary Drug and Alcohol Service. The compilation, inputting and retrieval of data using information technology and paper systems.

To produce, record and file computer generated prescriptions.To monitor and order stock.

### Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, particularly MS Word and Excel

**Desirable**

- An awareness of issues relating to substance misuse

### Experience

**Essential**

- Proven admin experience in a busy office environment
- Using information technology systems
- Proven experience of working on a busy reception.

**Desirable**

- Work within health or social care setting

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- Excellent typing, I.T. and admin skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Liaison and communication skills – written and spoken

### Education / Qualifications

**Essential**

- Information technology qualification
- GCSE Maths or equivalent.
- GCSE English or equivalent.

### Work Related Circumstances

**Essential**

- Flexible approach to work including some early evening working
- A positive and non-judgemental attitude to the client group
- Use of a car or access to a means of mobility to travel across the Trust footprint in line with service needs
