### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Specialist Service Teams as Administrative Team Lead, based at Benfield House, on the Walkergate Park Hospital site in Newcastle. The post holder will supervise staff in the Mental Health and Deafness Service and Adult Eating Disorders Service however will primarily supervise and work into the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Team.

The post holder must have proven demonstrable supervisory, leadership and administrative experience along with previous supervisor experience in an NHS Trust preferred. The post holder will be required to monitor admin staff's performance and processes and must have proven demonstrable experience of diary management and note taking.

You should be confident, have evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to problem solve in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure and be used to working to a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity. An awareness of transgender issues and gender diversity is essential. Previous experience in supervising staff is also essential.

The successful candidate will have day to day supervisory responsibility for a growing admin team, currently comprising of 4x Band 3 Admin Officers working in Gender Dysphoria, Adult Eating Disorders and Mental Health and Deafness and 3x Band 2 Admin Assistants working into Gender Dysphoria and Adult Eating Disorders. The post holder will be responsible for dealing with all staffing issues including recruitment, appraisal, training, performance and quality management, supervision and support. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Gender Dysphoria Service Pathway Coordinator and Medical Assistants to ensure an efficient and streamline service is provided to an exclusive client base. You will report directly to the Administration Manager but work closely with clinical staff on a day to day basis.

The post holder will also undertake additional duties such as ordering supplies, requesting repairs and updating rotas and duty sheets. This list is not exhaustive

### Knowldge and Experience

**Essential**

- Knowledge of Trust Policies and Procedures
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Patient Information Systems
- Good working knowledge of office procedures
- Knowledge of Health and Safety policies relating to role

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of Financial Procedures relating to delegated finance duties
