### Job overview

Community Midwifery require the support of an Administrative Assistant. We have 9 Community Teams that work across Derby City, Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The efficient running of these relies on administrative support.

Community midwifery operates across several team bases throughout Derby City, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

The successful applicant will be expected to be based at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital and support the others virtually, there may be some requirement to attend another site on occasion but this would be minimal.

The successful applicant would be expected to work closely with these teams and to support them with ordering stock requirements.

There are a number of databases that require monitoring and data input therefore confidence with IT skills and Excel are required.

Also a requirement to access patient systems and schedule appointments

Assist in any additional related project work as directed.

The role will have some requirement to manage diaries, take notes and send out agendas.

The postholder will not be under direct supervision at all times therefore working under own initiative is key.

### Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job will be updating spreadsheets and databases, ordering stock for teams, filing and tracking  records, responding to emails, using different electronic patient record systems, making appointments  and communicating with different departments.

### Knowledge

**Desirable**

- 5 GCSES Grade C/Grade 4 or above must include English and Maths or equivalent

### Skills and Ability

**Essential**

- To be able to demonstrate the ability to work accuracy and pay attention to detail
- To be able to demonstrate the ability to work on own initiative with guidance and within procedural guidelines, demonstrating an understanding of confidentiality

**Desirable**

- Problem solving skills and ability to contribute to continuous improvement discussions

### Experience & Knowledge

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel (or demonstration of knowledge by achievement of ECDL/CLAIT/ICT recognised digital skills accreditation)
- Previous demonstrable administration experience

**Desirable**

- Previous experience in a customer facing
