Area Administration Assistant - Fixed Term until 31.03.27

Are you an experienced administrator, looking for a fresh challenge in a vibrant and successful NHS team?  If so, we’d love to hear from you.  We are seeking a motivated and highly organised Administrator to join our Paramedic Emergency Service team within the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), supporting our operations across the Greater Manchester area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our Service Delivery Directorate, providing essential administrative support to senior leaders — including the Area Director, Head of Operations, Consultant Paramedic, and their wider teams. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of high‑quality care to the public.

### Main duties of the job

In this varied, fast paced role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to senior leadership, coordinate diaries, meetings, documentation, and communication across the service.  Handle sensitive and confidential information in line with information governance standards.  Use Microsoft Office confidently and learn bespoke NHS systems, support colleagues across the team and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment.

You will need exceptional organisational and administrative skills and be able to communicate clearly and confidently.  You’ll be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and be adept at learning new software systems and thrive in a busy, demanding environment.

### Experience

- Substantial administrative support experience within a complex organisation
- Experience supporting the preparation of complex data based reports
- Experience in the maintenance of information systems and databases
- Minute taking
- Organising events, conferences and meetings

### Skills / competencies

**Essential**

- Computer literacy with competency using the full Microsoft Office package and strong keyboard skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, displaying tact when dealing with sensitive issues
- Organisational and planning abilities to effectively prioritise work
- Ability to multitask, switching between a range of activities
- Demonstrates initiative and able to work without close supervision
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Numerical data analysis ability for production of reports
- Understands the importance of and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
