### Job summary

We are looking for a highly organised Administration Assistant to join the Continuing Healthcare Operations team at Norfolk and Suffolk ICB. The Continuing Healthcare Operations team provides administrative and business support to a large team of skilled clinicians who provide Continuing Healthcare services to patients across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is a package of care, arranged and funded by the NHS, for patients who have been assessed as having a primary health need. The CHC process involves assessing individuals with ongoing health and care needs to determine whether they are eligible for NHS-funded support, either in their own home or in a residential or nursing home setting.

The Operations team is a busy administrative function, supporting with a wide range of duties, including dealing with enquiries from patients, their families and health and social care professionals. Excellent customer service skills, the ability to organise and prioritise tasks and work effectively as a team are key skills required for this role.

### Main duties of the job

Main Duties

As an Administration Assistant in the CHC Operations team you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the wider CHC team. This will include managing correspondence, telephone enquiries and email communications from patients and their families, accurately updating electronic records and databases and coordinating meetings and appointments. You will prepare documentation and outcome letters and ensure that any queries relating to cases are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

You will work as part of a team that processes personal and sensitive information and as such will be expected to uphold high professional standards in your communication with patients, their families and health and care professionals. Working as part of a team, you will adopt a flexible approach to switching between tasks, providing cover when required across different administrative and business tasks.

About you

We are looking for someone who has excellent organisational and time-management skills and who can prioritise a varied workload to meet critical deadlines. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and first-class customer service skills. You will be highly professional and able to work with sensitive and emotive information, observing the importance of confidentiality at all times. You will be able to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team, and have a positive, flexible and collaborative approach.

### About us

We manage an annual budget of £4.9 billion to commission safe, high quality and accessible health services for 1.7million people living in Norfolk and Suffolk.

We work with hospitals, GP practices, dentists, pharmacies, community, mental health and ambulance services, alongside local councils and voluntary organisations, to improve care. We involve local communities in shaping decisions and use their insights to improve services. As a statutory NHS organisation, we are accountable to NHS England and the UK Government.

Our role is to ensure services meet current and future needs by setting local NHS strategy, allocating funding, maintaining quality and safety standards, improving access, reducing health inequalities and enabling joined up care.

Norfolk and Suffolk include rural, coastal and deprived communities, with an older than average population. Around half of residents live in rural or coastal areas, where access can be harder, and about 219,000 people live in the most deprived areas, where early deaths are significantly higher. These factors shape our planning and focus on reducing inequalities.

Our vision is for people to live longer, healthier lives with access to safe, joined up, patient centred care. We prioritise improving healthy life expectancy, reducing inequalities and ensuring consistent access to high quality services.

We work across five local Places and partner with NHS providers, councils, the VCFSE sector and communities to deliver locally responsive care.
