Are you someone who is looking for an opportunity to be involved in enhancing the lives & wellbeing of older people experiencing dementia?   Our service users need support in many aspects of their lives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the dementia inpatient service on Ward 2 the Mount.  Ward 2 provides 24hr assessment and treatment for females living with dementia.

We are looking to recruit someone into our established Activity Coordinator Team who can work alongside our Occupational Therapy Service to provide person-centred care for people with dementia.

The jobholder will be actively involved in planning, organising and delivering high quality and meaningful recreational activities on either an individual or groupwork basis.

### Main duties of the job

A person-centred, strength-based approach will be required to ensure that activities are tailored to the person to meet their individual needs and promote wellbeing. The jobholder will work independently with people living with dementia.

The jobholder will communicate easily and sensitively with older people and their carer/families.

Professional qualifications are not required, but the jobholder will have experience of working with older people including those who have for example dementia, cognitive impairment, physical disability, and clinically related behaviours that are challenging.

The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of a positive and creative environment for undertaking activities.

The jobholder will be expected to work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and volunteers offering guidance and support.
