### Healthcare Support Worker – Inpatient Unit

ACCORD Hospice is looking for additional Healthcare Support Workers to join our IPU team at ACCORD Hospice. Your main duties will be to assist the nursing staff in a range of patient care duties within our eight bedded inpatient unit. See Job description for more details.

Hours: Opportunities for bank work and permanent part time hours

Salary: Band 2 – starting £25,694 pro rata

Location: ACCORD Hospice, Paisley Reports to: In-Patient Unit Manager

- Assist trained nursing staff in a range of patient care duties.
- Observe patient’s general condition in line with care plan.

- Working with the wider team in the provision of care, social and recreational activities for patients and carers.
- Always maintain confidentiality.

- Experience in providing personal care and support within a health or social care setting
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, dignity, respect and empathy
- Ability to work as part of a team and to follow instructions
- Willingness to work within a specialist palliative care setting, with people who need end of life care and support
- Ability to deal with frequent exposure to emotional circumstances
- Good communication and listening skills
- Good observation skill and ability to report back promptly and accurately
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
