This base was featured on the television series "Super Hospital" The post is offered at a band 7 or 8a (dependent on experience) with the potential for progression from band 7 to 8a through a competency-based gateway (preceptorship) . ### Main duties of the job The posts give the opportunity to join teams that value the contribution that psychology brings to their work. The Psychologists who work across our service value the variety that working within Psycho-oncology can bring and enjoy using a broad range of knowledge and skills to provide therapy for those presenting with mental health difficulties related to their cancer situation and care. The post is line managed through a robust Psychology structure and offers great opportunities to develop a specialist area of Psychological expertise whilst working therapeutically, such as individual therapy, group work and supervision skills. (Applicable to and essential for 8a role) - Evidence of taking full clinical responsibility for clients with a range of mental health problems and severity, within the context of multi-disciplinary care (essential for Band 8a role) **Desirable** - Expertise and interest in a specialist area relevant to psych-oncology specifically ### Training and Qualifications **Essential** - Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above).
