This role supports the delivery of a high-quality Emergency Medicine service within a busy, consultant-led department. The post holder will provide senior clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions, ensuring safe, timely, and effective care.

You will take a leading role on the shop floor, offering guidance and clinical supervision to junior doctors and advanced practitioners, while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patient flow and decision-making.

The role includes active involvement in teaching and training, contributing to educational programmes, simulation, and the development of trainees and other healthcare professionals. ## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Comprehensive experience in Emergency Medicine at a senior level;
- Evidence of clinical competence across a broad range of acute presentations;
- Experience of supervising and supporting junior medical staff;
- Involvement in audit, quality improvement, or clinical governance activities

**Desirable**

- Experience in service development or leading quality improvement initiatives;
- Experience in teaching and training medical students or multidisciplinary teams;
- Exposure to research or innovation within Emergency Medicine

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC);
- On the GMC Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine, or within 6 months of achieving CCT;
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) or equivalent;
- Evidence of completion of a recognised training programme or equivalent experience

**Desirable**

- Additional qualifications or training in areas such as Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Intensive Care
- Advanced Life Support certifications (e.g. ALS, ATLS, APLS) ;
- Evidence of teaching or educational qualifications
