Fixed Term contract until November 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Sonographer to join our Ultrasound team on a fixed term, full time basis.

As a sonographer in Barnsley you will work at both the Hospital site and the Community Diagnostic Centre CDC which lies within the heart of the Town Centre, with shops ,cafes and a busy market.

Barnsley has excellent public transport facilities with both the CDC and the Hospital site being within walking distance from the bus station and Train stations.

This position offers the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and an busy Medical Imaging Department.

### Main duties of the job

As the successful candidate you will independently perform and report a range of Ultrasound Scans including general abdominal, gynae and obstetrics. However the range of scans will depend on experience and qualifications.

You will deliver a high quality ,efficient Ultrasound service providing patient centered care to a wide range of inpatients and outpatients.

You will work within department guidelines and protocols and will embrace the Trust's values.

You will interpret, report on and escalate where necessary , ultrasound findings accurately to support patient diagnoses.

You will work collaboratively with radiologists, midwives. assistants, junior staff and multidisciplinary teams

HCPC registration, PgDMU and previous NHS experience are essential to this role.

You will have a knowledge of working with Samsung and Canon Ultrasound machines.
