This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional nurse to join our Emergency Department team as a Lead Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to provide visible leadership in a fast-paced environment, driving high quality, patient centred care and supporting service improvement.

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with urgent or emergency care expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for developing others. You will inspire teams, promote patient safety, and lead improvements that make a real difference to patients and staff.

### Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities will include:

Provide effective professional and clinical leadership to nursing teams.

Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.

Support and develop staff through coaching, supervision, and performance management.

Lead on quality improvement, patient experience, and patient safety initiatives.

Manage resources efficiently to support service delivery and performance.

Promote a positive culture of teamwork, learning, and continuous improvement.

Support the achievement of Trust and departmental objectives.

Act as a role model for professional practice and leadership.

### Qualifications

- 1st level registered nurse (equivalent to 1st degree) plus significant Emergency Department experience at either Nurse Grade F or Band 6 plus additional qualifications including Assessing and Mentoring qualification and additional relevant degree (or evidence of working towards a degree).
- Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.

**Desirable**

- NVQ D32/33 Assessor Course.
- Advanced Life Support training.
- ENP qualification.
- Minor Illness course.
